Disinfectant Steps 1. Apply a small quantity of either cool soapy water, isopropyl alcohol solution (70-90%), or ethanol (70-80%) sodium on a clean soft cloth. 2. Disinfect the thermometer body and area around temperature probe by wiping thoroughly with saturated cloth, drying quickly with a dry cloth or paper towel.
HOW TO TAKE READINGS:
Please disinfect thermometer before use.
Oral 1. Wait for the flashing temperature unit to be displayed, indicating the device is ready to read. 2. Place probe tip under the tongue as close as possible to either back corner. 3. Hold for 30 seconds to receive a reading (note: please remember that oral temp. is slightly higher than external temp. - 0.3 °C / 32.54 °F). Suggestion: Keep your mouth closed for a period of 2 minutes before getting a reading for more accurate measuring.
Underarm 1. Wait for the flashing temperature unit to be displayed, indicating the device is ready to read. 2. Wipe the underarm with a dry towel and place probe tip under arm with the tip touching the skin and the probe perpendicular to the body. 3. Hold for 30 seconds to receive a reading. Suggestion: Close underarm for at least 5 minutes before getting a reading for more accurate measuring.
Rectal 1. Wait for the flashing temperature unit to be displayed, indicating the device is ready to read. 2. Apply a water soluble lubricant to the probe cover. 3. Gently insert the probe (maximum 1/2") into the rectum. 4. Hold for 20 seconds to receive a reading (note: please remember that rectal temp. is slightly higher than external temp. - 0.5 °C / 32.90 °F).
