Tentatively: FL420 is a small, practical pulse oximeter with useful features like heart rate (HR), oxygen saturation (SpO2), PR waveform graph-display (helps distinguish different type of pulse irregularities), perfusion index (PI%), and a bargraph display for the heart beats. There is adjustable-range single-tone alarm function for heart rate and oxygen saturation, and the brightness of the display is adjustable as well. The PI% feature is a plus compared to the "predecessor" and slightly larger, bulkier FL100 model. FL420 works with two AAA batteries, fits in your pocket, or you can carry it on a belt in a case or on a lanyard around your neck. This review is limited due to lack of field experience with FL420, however, if it performs the same level as FL100 - the model I worked with since 2013 - I will be an avid advocate. Given that PR waveform and PI% only show in certain position of the finger, on which the pulse oximeter is on, I am curious how these functions can be accessed in real life situations.
